OLIVER GROENEWALD NEWNET + JON HAMMOND in KAISERKELLER DETMOLD: I met Oliver Groenewald in Hamburg when he was playing trumpet on the pit band for HAIR. The cats used to come over after-hours and sit in with us at my gig in Skurillum (now Schmidt's Theatre) at Spielbuden Platz 24 on Reeperbahn. Sometime after HAIR gig was over (and they took my drummer Uwe Petersen with them), Oliver invited me to guest with his fine ensemble "OLIVER GROENEWALD NEWNET" on some great arrangements he wrote of my tunes in KAI

JAZZ KNEIPE Frankfurt : JON HAMMOND Band '94: I played 207 gigs in the famous JAZZ KNEIPE Frankfurt at Berlinerstr. 70 until Regina the boss finally closed the doors and moved to Spain a few years ago, usually in Duo, sometimes as Trio but more often than not as Solo. This was a special occasion because my bandmates from California came over so I had them on the gig with addition of Sgt.
